Parenteral Nutrition
Calea HomeCare™ / Therapies / Parenteral Nutrition

Total Parenteral nutrition (TPN) is the intravenous administration of a complete nutritional solution containing carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water. The intravenous (IV) catheter delivers the nutrients directly into the blood stream, bypassing the gastrointestinal system.

Since the early 1980s, Calea has made it possible for home TPN clients to lead normal lifestyles.

Calea’s healthcare professionals work in partnership with healthcare teams to provide clients with the training, supplies, and ongoing emotional or technical support necessary to manage their TPN therapy at home. Calea HomeCare supports the home TPN community through its efforts with the Canadian Society of Nutritional Support, the Canadian Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Association (CPENA), the “Oley” Foundation, and the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN).

Our pharmacists are an integral part of the home TPN Clinical Team and attend weekly nutrition clinics at several major teaching hospitals.

TPN Service Features:

Customized TPN solutions for each patient

Home delivery of all necessary solutions, supplies, & equipment

Regular follow-up by customer service representatives to ensure continuity of supplies
